The Tshwane School for Business and Society has a permanent position of a Full Professor at the Tshwane School for Business and Society, Ditsela Place, 1204 Park Street, Hatfield.
Critical Performance Areas:
Providing academic leadership to staff and students in the Business School.
Facilitating the learning processes and outcomes of the Business School.
Lecturing on the MBA programme and involved in lecturing related activities.
Directing and ensuring academic and industry engagement.
Conducting, publishing, supervising and promoting research.
Lead research activities including publications, presentations and writing of research proposals for funding.
Manage the Human, financial and infrastructure resources of the research committee to ensure maximum efficiencies in the research and student outputs.
As a senior member of the Business School, a professor must be active in promoting excellence and quality in teaching and learning, community engagements and research activities.
Create a collegial environment of intellectual exchange and infuse critical scholastic rigor in the Business School, in general and in all the academic programs of the department in particular
Assist the school’s leadership to manage student enrolment plans and success rates
Evidence of contributions to the creation of knowledge, eg. Research and publications in accredited and non-accredited journals.
Oversee and lead the supervision of Masters/MBA and/or Doctoral candidates.
Minimum Requirements
NQF Level 10 (Doctoral Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Management Sciences, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related business-focused discipline from an accredited institution of higher education/university).
Experience:
Five (5) years relevant experience at Associate Professor level and compliance with the policy on academic appointments and/or promotions.
Good Business and Industry knowledge-especially in a consulting environment.
Expert knowledge in the theory and application of relevant MBA disciplines.
Experience at facilitating learning at both undergraduate and post graduate levels and adult learners.
proven track record of supervising Master’s/MBA and/or Doctoral candidates to completion.
Demonstrate capacity to lead and support postgraduate supervision in line with CHE and DHET accreditation requirements for MBA and Doctoral programmes.
Full proficiency in English and strong written and communication skills.
Excellent networking skills and the ability to work in a team.
Research publications in DHET accredited peer reviewed journals.
An NRF Rating will be an added advantage.
